Imam Kadhim (AS) is widely known for his kindness, altruism, generosity and his tendency to help the poor secretly and publicly.
He is also known as Al-Kadhim (one who suppresses his anger) and Bab al-Hawaaij (the Door to Fulfilling One's Needs).
He became Imam at the age of 20 and was martyred after 35 years of Imamate by the Abbasid caliph Harun al-Rashid.
Known as Al-Kadhimiya Mosque or Al-Kadhimiya Shrine, the tombs of Imam Kadhim (AS) and Imam Jawad (AS), the 9th Shia Imam, are in Kadhimayn or Kadhimiya suburb of Baghdad, Iraq.
