Amir Al-Mu’minin Library in Najaf

NAJAF (IQNA) – Public library of Imam Amir al-Mu'minin is a major library in the Iraqi holy city of Najaf.

Founded by late Muslim scholar Allameh Amini in 1954, the library includes various sections and is managed by a board of trustees.

It thousands of historic and contemporary books in various fields such as Islam, Quran, mathematics, and physics. The library is mostly visited by seminary students from Iran and Iraq.

Allame Amini (1902-1970) was a major Shia scholar in the 20th century and is well-known for his 11-volume book “Al-Ghadir”. 

He was laid to rest near the library.
