TEHRAN (IQNA) – The third educational phase of a national plan dubbed ‘I Love Quran’ started online in Iran last week.

Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine

It was launched on the occasion of Mid-Shaaban festivities along with the sixth round of the draw for the plan.

Head of Holy Quran Center of Imam Reza shrine called the first and second online phases of the plan (teaching beautiful recitation of the Quran and daily prayers) a success, adding: “This Quranic plan has been successful to attract a large number of people, between 8 to 71 years of age, from across the country over a period of more than a year. Khorasan Razavi, Tehran and Isfahan provinces have been top on the list of the most interested”.

Pointing to the low per capita of Quran reading and recitation in the country, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Masoud Mirian added that the plan had been aimed at promoting the culture of Quran recitation and teaching throughout the nation.

“In an attempt to attract greater number of people, 6 rounds of draw have been done among those who have been present in the program since the beginning. Ninety outstanding Quran devotees have been selected so far and received their prizes”.

“Some 38,000 people have been trained in 700 online sessions by 500 Quranic teachers to date”, continued Mirian, noting that 10,000 people had already received their electronic license.

He expressed hope the number of trainees would be increased to at least one million, and at most 8 million across the country in future.

“Although the plan has been run on cyberspace, the trainees have been in contact with their teachers online for problem-solving and support”, said the head of Holy Quran Center.

According to Mirian, a special ‘I Love Quran’ counter had been established during the Sha’ban festivities in Imam Reza shrine in order to promote the plan widely. Also, the official application of the shrine called ‘Nasim Rezvan’ had been introducing the plan and arrangements had been made on the shrine text message service (at 8800), and ‘Rezvan’ and ‘Baad-e-Saba’ applications in a bid to attract more and more people.

“The applicants can register in the plan on www.quranlove.ir after downloading 14 training files”, added Mirian. The training sessions will start for each 25-member classes afterwards.

The implementation of the plan started in 2021 coinciding with the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (AS).
