The Islamic Waqf Department in al-Quds organized the ceremony in the Qibli Musalla at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday.

The ceremony included the performance of praises of the Prophet (PBUH) and religious chants by the Islamic Chanting Group, along with recounting the biography of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), amid a spiritual atmosphere inside Al-Aqsa Mosque.

A number of al-Quds scholars and dignitaries participated in commemorating the occasion.

They included Sheikh Yusuf Abu Sneineh, Sheikh Mohammad Sarandah, Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, and Sheikh Omar Al-Kiswani, along with a number of worshippers and visitors to Al-Aqsa Mosque.

This year’s commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday coincided with the 57th anniversary of the burning of Al-Aqsa Mosque, which took place on August 21, 1969.

Religious and al-Quds figures called on worshippers to travel to the mosque and revive it on this occasion.
