The deputy head of Hajj and Umrah at the Hajj and Pilgrimage Medical Center emphasized that this is according to a directive from the Saudi government for all countries, so that the names of the pilgrims who will be sent to Hajj next year should be determined as soon as possible.

Speaking to IQNA, Ali Akbar Jangjou pointed out that more than 67,000 applicants for Hajj 2027 were introduced to the Hajj and Pilgrimage Medical Center by the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization to have their physical ability checked.

“Of this number, more than 32,000 people have referred to our doctors, and the physical ability of 25,000 has been confirmed, and they have been introduced to the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization to continue the process of finalizing their registration, receiving the application fee and visa.”

He noted that more than 14,000 of these people are women and 11,000 are men.

Jangjou reminded that more than 52 percent of Hajj applicants have not yet visited doctors.

“We must complete the examinations by September 22,” he said, noting that there is little time left to complete the medical examinations of the pilgrims.

He also said that 308 doctors across the country are ready for Hajj applicants to visit them, but 52 percent of the applicants have not yet visited them.

“Given the time limit, if the applicants visit all at once during the examination deadline, we will face a challenge. Therefore, we ask Hajj applicants to visit the doctors whose list has been announced as soon as possible.”

Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.

The annual pilgrimage is regarded as one of the pillars of Islam and the largest act of mass pilgrimage in the world.

It is also a demonstration of Muslims’ unity and their submission to Allah.
