Republic of Iraq Embassy chargé d'affaires Hudayfa Zead Mahmoud Salih said Malaysia #QuranHour should be held every month instead of just once a year to give Muslims more opportunities to deepen their understanding of the Quran and its guidance.

He said programs of this nature were important as the Quran served not only as a guide for worship, but also covered various aspects of life.

“I hope it is not every year. I hope it is every month like this because the Quran is very vast and has many rules.

“It is not only for worship or prayer. The Quran is for everything, for wisdom, economics and normal life,” he said when met by Sinar Harian at the Malaysia #QuranHour program at Al-Sultan Abdullah Mosque, Presint Merdeka 118, on Sunday.

He said more sessions and programs related to the Quran should be held to allow the public to gain more knowledge and better understand the guidance contained in the Quran.

He said programs such as Malaysia #QuranHour also served as an important platform to enhance public understanding of the Quran and encourage people to apply its teachings in their daily lives.

“I think we need many sessions like this or events like this to allow people to know about the Quran,” he said.
