Sheikh Khalil Afra appeared on the Al-Kawthar Global Network’s “Special Meeting” program during the recent International Islamic Unity Conference held in Tehran and Mashhad.

The path of Martyr Khamenei (RA) is the path of unity and resistance, and the Ummah’s allegiance to the new Leader will determine the enemy’s defeat, he stated.  

He referred to the forty years of holding the Islamic Unity Conference during Islamic Unity Week, and considered it one of the blessings and legacies of Imam Khomeini (RA).

He emphasized that these conferences, held with the presence of scholars from all over the Islamic world, are a platform for exchanging views on the issues of the Ummah and strategies for confronting the conspiracies of the enemies.

He referred to the martyred Leader’s special devotion to the Holy Quran, including his translation of Sayyid Qutb's commentary, and said the martyred Imam did not utter a single divisive word throughout his life and considered unity not a slogan or tactic, but a Quranic and practical principle.

The Sunni scholar referred to the martyred Leader’s famous fatwa on the prohibition of insulting the wives of the Prophet (PBUH) and his companions, and considered this action a tangible symbol of unity and his deep vision for preserving Islamic brotherhood.

According to Sheikh Afar, this fatwa had a wide resonance throughout the Islamic world and indicated the protection of the sanctities of all religions.

Emphasizing that the martyred leader always considered Palestine the first priority of the Islamic world, the Sunni cleric said he pursued this ideal not only in words but also in action and with all-round support for the axis of resistance in Palestine, Lebanon and Gaza.

“The large presence of the Iranian people in the Quds Day rallies is a sign of the continuation of this path.”

This Sunni scholar also referred to recent events, including the aggression launched by the US and the Zionist regime on Iran, and said that the Iranian people, both Shias and Sunnis, by firmly pledging allegiance to the new Leader, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, showed that the enemy is incapable of sowing division inside Iran.
