It has been organized by the Women’s Quran Institute—affiliated with the Women’s Affairs Office of the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine.

According to the Al-Kafeel Global Network website, 52 women from various Iraqi provinces who have memorized the entire Quran are participating in this two-day event, which began on Friday.

Israa Al-Akrawi, a member of the competition’s organizing committee, said the preliminary stage of the contest was recently held by the Astan’s Women’s Quran Institute.

“Ultimately, 52 memorizers from different provinces, as well as various Quranic institutes and holy shrines, qualified for the second (final) stage.”

She added that in this competition, the female memorizers are competing in three categories—memorization of 30, 20, and 15 Juzes (parts) of the Quran—based on the event’s approved judging criteria.

Al-Akrawi noted that through organizing these Quranic activities, the Institute aims to deeply instill the memorization of the Divine Word in the hearts and souls of women, elevate the proficiency of memorizers and reciters, and prepare them to represent Iraq’s Quranic community in national and international competitions.

She further stated that by consolidating memorization, encouraging continuous review, and fostering a positive spirit of Quranic competition among the participants, this event helps strengthen their bond with the Divine Word and encourages them to continue their Quranic journey.
