UN Chief Lauds Ayatollah Sistani's Stance against Sectarianism
The letter was delivered to Ayatollah Sistani by UN representative in Iraq Nikolai Miladinov, Buratha news agency reported.
Miladinov in a press conference said that in his meeting with the senior cleric in Najaf, they discussed the affairs of Iraqi refugees and both sides expressed concern regarding Iraq’s instability.
He underlined that Ayatollah Sistani can play a positive role in the sectarian war and humanitarian actions.
Miladinov further stressed the importance of forming a new pluralistic government of Iraq as well as getting using the constitution to resolve the issues in the country.
He also asked Iraqi political leaders to view terror and sectarian war in a new way and avoid violence, as well as helping the refugees in the country.
