Members of Iran's Quranic community underlined their support for the oppressed people of Palestine and slammed the Zionist regime's brutal onslaught on the Gaza Strip.

In a gathering held Saturday at Imam Sadeq (AS) Mosque in Tehran's Palestine Square, they chanted slogans like 'Death to America', 'Death to Israel' and 'Today is Day of Global Arrogance's Death'.
A large number of Quranic figures and activists, reicters, memorizers, and directors of Quranic institutes took part in the gathering, which began by recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Masters Abolqassemi, Karim Mansouri and Saeed Tousi.
A representative of Hamas in Tehran was also present at the gathering. In a short speech, he thanked  the Iranian nation's support for Palestine and urged other Muslim nations to stand beside the Palestinians.
The Zionist regime launched a new war against the Gaza Strip on July 8. According to Palestinian health officials, the overall Palestinian death toll from the brutal Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has reached 1,917, with most of the fatalities being civilians. Nearly 10,000 others have been wounded in the attacks.
Latest tallies show that at least 450 Palestinian children have so far lost their lives in the Israeli attacks against the impoverished Gaza Strip. Children also make up almost one-third of the injured.
UN estimates show the Israeli raids have destroyed more than 10,000 houses and left some 65,000 people homeless in the densely-populated Palestinian territory.
