The Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought cited fighting historical fabrications and religious ignorance and prejudices as one of the objectives of the first conference on ‘Women’s Rights and Responsibilities in Islamic System’.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri said that the Forum in line with its objective of protecting and promoting the rights of women, who have played a great role in creating Islamic awareness, has planned to host the conference.

“We intend to fight false beliefs and prejudices undermining women’s right that have accumulated throughout history and present the true Islamic teachings as a step toward the development and progress of the society” he added.

Referring to the occasion of the birthday anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (A.S.), Ayatollah Taskhiri said that Hazrat Zahra was the best role model for all Muslims especially women and that her birthday should be a day for all Muslims to be celebrating and feasting.

Further in his remarks, the Ayatollah condemned the atrocities committed by the usurper Israeli regime against Palestinians and the Lebanese.
