Shia & Sunni Sects Enjoy Joint Spiritual Feast in Srinagar

Large number of people enjoyed a spiritual feast in Srinagar as qaris (reciters of the book of Allah) from different organizations and institutions recited the verses of holy Quran.
This was first such event in Kashmir which saw Qaris from both Shia and Sunni sects performing together.

Organized by Mustafa Ansari Foundation in connection with the week long commemorative services on the first death anniversary of Maulana Mustafa Hussain Ansari, the function was attended by Qaris from all major Muslim seminaries of Srinagar. They include Hanafia Arabic College, Jamia Babul Ilm, Anjumane Nusratul Islam, Tanzeemul Makatib and Jamia Ilmya Imam Raza.

Renowned scholar Maulana Mustafa who penned around 41 books in his brief life span with 20 of them already sold out also wrote commentary of holy Quran with Kashful Aneeq Fi Sharhi Qanoon-e-Ameeq and Minhajul Quran in Kashmiri and Urdu respectively. He has also translated Nahjul Balagha in Kashmiri language besides a two volume biography of Imam Hussain titled Qateel-e-Nainava.

A grand day long concluding Majlis was held on Sunday at Maulana's resting place Gulistan-e-Baba Mazar, Alamgari Bazar, Srinagar. Thousands of people from all over the valley took part.

Earlier prominant scholars paid rich tributes to late Maulana during a seminar held in Srinagar. Seminarwas held to highlight the different aspects of Maulana Mustafa's life.

Besides others Prof Zaman Azurdah, Prof Aga Ashraf Ali, Maulana Showkat Hussain Keng, Maulana Abbas Ansari and Syed Saleem Geelani spoke on the occasion.
