Experts Assembly Holds Meeting
-- The 7th formal meeting of the Assembly of Experts began this morning with a speech by chairman of the assembly Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
The two-day meeting is held at the building in Tehran where the Majlis (Islamic Consultative Assembly) held its sessions before moving to the new parliament building.
Following Ayatollah Rafsanjani’s speech, a number of the assembly’s members as well as Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki and commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Major General Jafari will address the meeting.
Later in the session the members will discuss 6 major plans, Ayatollah Hashemzadeh Harisi, a member of the assembly told IQNA.
On Thursday, they will visit the mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini and then will meet with the supreme leader of the revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
