Winners of Majlis Quran Competition Honored

-- A ceremony was held today, November 8, to honor winners of the 8th Quran competition for the Majlis (Islamic Consultative Assembly) staff.
The ceremony was held at the Majlis prayer hall with the presence of deputy Majlis speaker Hojat-ol-Islam Abutorabifard.
Giving a report about the competition, Khabbazi who heads the Dar-ol-Quran center of the Majlis, said the 8th edition of the contest was very well received by the staff and their family members.
Like previous years, it was held in the holy month of Ramadan, he said. 200 participants competed in the categories of Quran recitation, Tarteel, memorization, prayers, Azhan (call to prayer), and book reading and 30 of the contenders came out as winners.
Also addressing the ceremony was Hojat-ol-Islam Abutorabifard who congratulated the attendees on the anniversary of Imam Ali (AS) and Hazrat Zahra (SA) marriage and elaborated on the responsibilities of man and woman in the family.
