Quran Translation Workshop at Int’l Book Fair

-- Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance said a Quran translation workshop would be held at the 24th Tehran International Book Fair.
Speaking at the book fair press conference Tuesday, April 26, Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini regarded the fair as the country’s biggest cultural event in which book lovers learn about the new activities of authors and publishers.
He said over 2000 Iranian publishers are attending the fair, adding that they have presented over 208,000 titles in the national section.
“The national section comprises four divisions: university, children, educational and general publishers. The international section features the works of 1614 publishers from d67 countries. They have showcased 196,200 titles in different languages,” he said.
The culture minister said on the occasion of Fatimiya Days marking the martyrdom anniversary of the beloved daughter of holy Prophet (PBUH), a special pavilion is set up at the fair this year offering works about the life and character of Hazrat Zahra (SA).
Concluding his remarks, Mr. Hosseini thanks different organizations and bodies including the ministries of energy, housing and urban development, intelligence, economic affairs and finance, the Customs Office, Tehran Municipal Council and the police for their contributions and cooperation.
The 24th Tehran International Book Fair will be held at Imam Khomeini Mosalla (prayer hall) from May 4-14.
