--Thou believers, spend of what we have given you before that day arrives when there shall be neither trade, nor friendship, nor intercession; it is the unbelievers who are the evildoers (The Quran: Surah 2, Verse 254).
Weeks after declaring their sympathetic support for the famine-stricken people in Somali, the Quranic figures and organizations have hardly done anything in practice.
This is while according to the Holy Quran and Islamic teachings, Muslims are strongly urged to help the needy, particularly those who won’t survive without receiving humanitarian aids.
Although the Quranic community is currently totally tied up with honoring Quranic activists and holding the 19th International Quran Exhibition during the holy month of Ramadan, it is not exempt from observing its main duty i.e. serving the holy Quran in practice.
As a pioneer in the promotion of Quranic culture, the Quranic community is required, more than any other organization, to make serious contributions to helping the starving people in Somalia.
Likewise, all Muslims, and the Iranians in particular, are expected to take steps to support the famine-stricken people in Somalia and lessen their hardship, especially following the Supreme Leader’s declaration calling on Muslims to help them out.
Financial help can be offered via the Red Crescent’s accounts (99999 and 0199999999003), as well as Imam Khomeini's Relief Foundation’s accounts (5555 for domestic, 333 for international) in all the branches of Melli Bank across the country.
