Tehran Int’l Book Fair Wraps up

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance urged for more efforts to foster the Fatemi (SA) culture in Iran’s Islamic society.
Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini made the remark in the closing ceremony of the 25th Tehran International Book Fair held at Imam Khomeini Mosalla (prayer ground) concurrent with the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA).
He regarded the book fair as a cultural, political and economic event that got extensive global coverage.
Dr Hosseini pointed to an article carried by the Guardian about fair that said participation of 77 countries in the fair was an indication of Iran’s success in the face of sanctions.
He further described the book fair as a cultural maneuver that displays the country’s cultural might.
The culture minister highlighted the Islamic Awakening and recent developments in the region, saying, the tide of Islamic awakening, whose flag-bearers have been the late Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, is growing in many of the regional countries.
Over 2,400 Iranian publishers and 1600 publishers from 77 countries offered their products at the fair this year.
