Head of Sunni scholars of southern Iraq said Shia sources of emulation, especially grand Ayatollah Sistani play an effective role in improvement of the situation in the country.
Speaking at the Imam Ali (AS) Center in London, Sheikh Khaled Abdul Wahhab Al-Mala added that Ayatollah Sistani has demonstrated wisdom and political experience time and again.
He said learned scholars and clerics, not those who only wear the attire of the clergy but those who seek to convey the Divine teachings, have made significant contributions to the Islamic Awakening and promotion of the Islamic culture.
Sheikh Al-Mala criticized those who wear the clergy’s attire but lead Muslims astray and issue Fatwas describing fellow Muslims as infidels (Takfir).
He further elaborated on the lofty status of Hazrat Zahra (SA) and Imam Ali (AS) and called on Muslims to raise their children with the love of Ahl-ul-Byat (AS).
The Sunni cleric pointed to the Hadith of Thaqalayn and said without referring to the teachings of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) one cannot comprehend the Quran.
