Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader said those who issue anti-Islamic Fatwas commit treason.
Delivering his second sermon at the University of Tehran’s Campus on Friday, May 3, Ayatollah Mohammad Emmami-Kashani added such scholars cannot be called Muslims but they are actually Zionists.
He noted that today the Islamic Awakening has spread in the Muslim world and that is why the enemies are seeking discord and divisions among Muslims.
The senior cleric underlined that in order to confront the enemies, it is necessary not only for Shi’ites but for the entire Muslim world to enhance solidarity.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Emmami-Kashani referred to the upcoming presidential elections in Iran, saying that in other countries, taking part in the elections is a right but in the Islamic Republic of Iran it is more than a right. “Going to the polls is a duty as the enemies have surrounded the Islamic Republic today.”
He also urged the candidates to be honest in giving promises and only enter the election campaign if they are sure they can fulfill their promises.
In his first sermon, Ayatollah Emmami-Kashani extended congratulations over the auspicious occasion of Hazrat Zahra’s (SA) birth anniversary, which marks mother’s day, and elaborated on the lofty status of mothers according to Islamic teachings.
