Quran-based Sciences Section of Int’l Quran Exhibition Inaugurated

The International Quran Exhibition’s Quran-based Sciences Section was launched in a ceremony on Tuesday, July 9.
The ceremony was held on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan with the participation of member of the Majlis’ Cultural Commission Gholam Ali Haddad Adel, head of the section Hojat-ol-Islam Mehdi Taqavi, and member of the Majlis’ Quran and Etrat Fraction Laleh Eftekahri.
Addressing the ceremony, Haddad Adel underlined that humanities must be Quran-based, saying that there are different ideas about the relation between the Quran and natural sciences but there is no dispute about the Quran’s relation with humanities.
He described the Quran as the Book of Guidance, adding that in an Islamic society, human sciences cannot be against the Quran.
The lawmaker added that the Quran is the intellectual and spiritual identity of the Islamic society and should be the basis of Islamic humanities.
Another speaker at the function was Laleh Eftekhari who said all views at all levels should be Quran-based.
She said with the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution the Supreme Council of Developing Quranic Culture has been founded that focuses on training Quran memorizers, recitation of the Quran and contemplating the Quran.
According to Ms. Eftekhari the Majlis has contributed to the development of Quranic activities by approving a 3000-billion-rial budget for promoting the culture of the Quran and another 3000 billion rials for training Quran memorizers.
Head of the section Hojat-ol-Islam Taqavi also took the podium, saying that young elites along with experienced scholars should work together to develop Islamic sciences.
He added that the front of Islamic sciences is the main field for confronting materialistic currents.
Elsewhere in the program, the participants visited different parts of the Quran-based Sciences Section including the pavilions of Islamic Wisdom Assembly, Imam Khomeini (RA) Education-Research Institute, Baligh Scientific Foundation, and Islamic Sciences and teachings Strategic Studies Institute.
A conceptual corridor featuring Quran’s scientific mysteries and miracles through light, images and sound, was another part of the section visited by the participants in the inauguration ceremony.
