“Islam, Peace and Reconciliation” Conference in Senegal

A conference titled “Islam, Peace and Reconciliation” will be held in the Senegalese capital of Dakar on Wednesday, July 17.
According to APS website, Imam Yahya Hindi, a professor at the Georgetown University in the United States and head of the Muslim Scholars Without Borders Council as well as a number of top scholars of Senegal will take part in the conference.
Imam Yahya, originally a Palestinian, will deliver a speech about the role of Muslim scholars in enhancing peace and reconciliation in society.
He will also talk about Islam’s view about the need to end wars and violence and the responsibilities of Muslims in this regard.
Imam Yahya is also scheduled to address the Friday prayers worshippers in Dakar on Friday, July 19.
He was selected as one of the 500 most influential Muslims in 2012 for his efforts to promote interfaith dialogue.
