Martyrdom, Pinnacle of Humanity’s Status
Representative of East Azerbaijan province in the Assembly of Experts said martyrdom is the pinnacle of human status.
Ayatollah Hashemzadeh-Harisi made the remark during a visit to the graves of the martyrs of the Sacred Defense era (Iran-Iraq war from 1980 to 1988), adding that with martyrdom, humanity reaches perfection.
Today, September 22, marks the anniversary of the 1980 Iraqi invasion of Iran, marking the beginning of the Sacred Defense week.
Ayatollah Hashemzadeh-Harisi paid a visit to the graves of martyrs to renew allegiance with the aspirations of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini (RA) and the martyrs of the revolution.
He narrated a Hadith saying that above any good thing there is a better one, except martyrdom above which there is no goodness.
Ayatollah Hashemzadeh-Harisi praised the greatness of martyrs and said in order to pay the debts to the martyrs, attempts should be made to strengthen the Islamic Establishment and move the country forward to become an economic, scientific, industrial and political superpower.
