Congress of Islamic Sciences Scholars Underway in Morocco

A congress of Islamic sciences and Nabawi Hadith scholars started in the Moroccan capital of Rabat on Saturday, September 28.
The event has been organized by Morocco’s Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministry in cooperation with the Dar-ul-Hadith Society and the National Higher Education Commission, aujourdhui website reported.
The participants in meetings on the first day of the congress underlined the need for a review of the Islamic sciences teaching methods in Quranic schools and higher education centers and called for developing new teaching programs using new technologies.
Speaking on the first day, Al-Arabi Busalham said in addition to using new technologies in the field of Islamic studies, efforts should be made to bring about scientific development in the field.
The participants also urged for promotion of the Seerah (lifestyle and teachings) of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in society, stressing that the Seerah and teachings of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) must be the role model for every Muslim.
They said in order to achieve this objective, educational conditions in Islamic teachings centers and universities should improve.
Ways for promotion of Islamic teachings in society, encouraging people to study Islamic sciences, and benefiting from the experiences of other Muslim countries in these areas were among other themes of discussions on the first day.
The congress of Islamic sciences and Nabawi Hadith scholars will come to a conclusion on Sunday, September 29.
