Russian Muftis Pay Visit to Imam Reza (AS) Holy Shrine
According to Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Baqeri, director of the Non-Iranian Pilgrims Department of Astan Quds Razavi, the 20-strong group visited different parts of the holy shrine as well as the Central Museum and Carpet Museum of the Astan.
There were also forums and question and answer session in which the common grounds between Shia and Sunni and its role in Islamic unity were discussed, he said.
Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Baqeri noted that members of the group have previously visited the cities of Qom, Tehran, and Isfahan.
The Russian delegation that also includes scholars and representatives of religious organizations arrived in Tehran last week.
Their Iran visit is aimed at enhancing religious and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
The delegation has made the trip on an invitation by the Iranian embassy in Moscow.
