The Russian rendering has been done in 5 years with a focus on both semantic and word for word translation, the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization said.
The work has been an effort to present a new translation of Islam’s Holy Book that lacks the errors and shortcomings of the previous renderings.

It started on Saturday, July 13, on the occasion of the fasting holy month of Ramadan.
The week-long event features exhibits of Islamic art and culture from across the Muslim world.
Iranian artworks in different fields including calligraphy are on display at the event and there are workshops on memorization and Tajweed recitation of the Quran.
Religious scholars and translators, among whom are Muslims from Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkey and India, will deliver speeches at the event.
