TEHRAN (IQNA) - Algeria called Monday, in Jakarta, the Muslim countries to bring diplomatic, political and financial support to the Palestinian authority and people.

The call has been made by the speaker of the People's National Assembly (lower house of Parliament), Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa.

Ould Khelifa, in an address at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's extraordinary summit he attended as the representative of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, said Algeria proposes the "adoption of a series of practical measures, including the boycott of Israel and the launch of the boycott office at the general secretariat, with the presentation of periodical reports to the OIC Foreign Ministers council."

Algeria also called to back the Palestinian diplomatic initiatives at the international organizations and fora and to vote for Palestine, mainly at the UN General Assembly.

Algeria urged the OIC member countries to make efforts to extend international recognition of the Palestine State and to implement the decision relating to Al Quds Fund and Al-Aqsa Fund, accredited by the OIC Foreign Ministers Council.

The creation of the two funds has been decided at the initiative of Algeria for the financing of social and economic projects in Al Quds (East Jerusalem).
