Iranian Envoy, Ugandan Mufti Discuss Cooperation in Quranic Fields

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iranian Cultural Attaché in Uganda Ali Bakhtiari met with the African country’s new grand Mufti in the capital city of Kampala.

During the meeting, which was held at the office of Sheikh Dirango, the Mufti, the two sides discussed cooperation in the fields of Quranic activities, according to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO).

Bakhtiari congratulated the Sheikh on his appointment as the new Mufti of Uganda.

He also referred to the current situation in the Muslim world and stressed the need for unity among Muslims and standing against extremism as well as conspiracies hatched by the enemies of Islam.

The Ugandan cleric, for his part, said all Muslims are a united Ummah (community) and praised the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in enhancing Islamic unity.
