Visitors to the 24th edition of Tehran International Quran Exhibition will have a chance to view the rare copy of the Holy Book whose calligraphy and decoration took 18 years to complete.
In this Quran, the Surahs (chapters) have been calligraphed on high-quality hand-made sheets of gilded paper in Thulth script.
Each page of the book has been decorated with 175 special Tazhib (illumination) works.
Its cover is made of silver inlaid with more than 1400 brilliants.
Several prominent master artists, including calligraphers and Tazhib masters have contributed to creating the work of art.
It will be unveiled at a ceremony in the early days of the international Quranic event.
Tehran’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) will host the 24th International Holy Quran Exhibition on June 13-28).
Iranian Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy annually organizes the event in the holy month of Ramadan.
