Mehdi Saed to Compete for Iran at Russia Int’l Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iranian Qari Mehdi Saed will represent the country in Russia’s international Quran contest this year.


According to Fars news agency, Saed will compete for Iran in the upcoming Quranic event in Russia.

He also competed for the Islamic Republic in Indonesia’s international Quran competition in 2014.

Born in 1981 in Lalejin, Hamedan, Saed is a prominent Quran reciter who has won several titles in national Quran competitions.

Russia’s 2016 international Quran contest will be held in the capital, Moscow, on September 22-26.

The Russian Muftiat Council organizes the competition annually.

It is alternatively held in the category of Quran recitation or Quran memorization every other year.

Last year, Iranian Quran memorizer Musa Motamedi ranked first in the 2015 Moscow International Quran Competition.
