According to Seyed Mohammad Alavi, representative of the Islamic Radios and Televisions Union in Turkey, her recitations have so far been received very well in mosques and religious gatherings in the Turkish city.
He said Vahidi is in Istanbul as part of an Iranian Quranic convoy that will perform Quranic programs in the city until the 19th day of Ramadan (June 25).
The convoy also includes a teenage Quran reciter named Ali Reza Qorbani as well as a Tawasheeh group.
Every year during Ramadan, the month of Quran, Iran dispatches Quranic groups to different countries to perform Quranic programs with the aim of fostering the Quranic culture and teachings.
The annual fasting month of Ramadan on the Islamic lunar calendar began on June 7 this year.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast as an effective way of practicing self-discipline. They are also expected to strengthen their character through self-restraint, charitable-giving and introspection.
Reading and contemplating the Holy Quran is also a major activity for Muslims during the holy month.
