Nine Qaris Make It to Final Round of Iran’s Nat’l Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The semifinal stage of the 39th national Quran competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran in recitation was held Friday in Zibakenar, northern province of Gilan.

Nine Qaris Make It to Final Round of Iran’s Nat’l Quran Contest


According to the panel of judges, nine Qaris made it to the final round of the competition in this category.

Hamed Alizadeh and Amir La’al Avval from Khorasan Razavi province, Saeed Parvizi and Mohammad Hassan Movahedi from Tehran, Seyed Mostafa Hosseini from Qazvin, Hossein Rafei from Gilan, Mohammad Jamaleh from Bushehr, Vahid Nazariyan from Kermanshah, and Kazem Azarpira from Khuzestan are the finalists of the Tahghigh recitation category.

They will compete for the top prize on Saturday afternoon.

The contest, which is held in several categories, including memorization, Adhan (call to prayers) and recitation, has been underway in the northern province since October 15.

750 Quran activists, 450 men and 300 women, have attended the Quranic event, whose panel of judges is made up of a number of top Quran masters of the country.

The competition is annually held by Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the aim of promoting Quranic activities and memorization and recitation of the Holy Book is society.
