Launched on October 24, 2008, concurrent with the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sadiq (AS), the institute offers courses on Quran, Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Arabic and Persian languages, and Islamic teachings in a rented apartment mearing 200 square meters in area.
Its director, Shir Ali Bayat, a Shia cleric, told IQNA that it was established for promoting cultural activities, training talented students in Quranic and Islamic fields, holding book fairs featuring the teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and launching a Quran teaching campaign for all.
The institute has plans to launch Islamic TV and radio networks for promotion of Islamic teachings and also establish a specialized library with books featuring the teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), he said.
As for the educational programs, he said the institute offers Quranic and Islamic courses for different age groups in two sections for men and women.
"Fortunately, the classes we hold have been received very well,” Bayat stated.
He said the institute aims to train prominent Quran reciters and memorizers who can shine at the international level
Bayat went on to say that a number of Iranian Qaris and Quran masters have been invited to recite the Quran at the institute in the past few years, adding that if conditions are prepared, Iranian Quran experts will be invited to teach courses at the institute as well.
