TEHRAN (IQNA) – During a national Quran competition in Iraq titled “Quranic Elites”, women representatives of the country in international competitions were selected.

The Holy Quran Center affiliated to the Women Affairs Section of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali’s (AS) holy shrine held the Quranic event, according to the website of the Astan.

Women Quran reciters and memorizers from different provinces of Iraq participated in the competition.

Anwar Al-Husnawi, an organizer of the competition, said that the event was an opportunity to identify talented Quran activists of the country.

He added that the center aims to raise the number of Iraqi women Quran memorizers and reciters in international competitions.

Zeynab Adnan from Karbala, Narges Jawad from Basra and Zaman Abd from Najaf were the winners of the national Quran competition.
