Saeed Pourali, the ACECR cultural deputy, Hamid Saber Farzam, the head of the Iranian Academics’ Quranic Activities Organization (IAQAO)- which is affiliated to the ACECR, and Rahim Khaki, an advisor to IAQAO, were present at the meeting, held earlier this week.
Also present were Iranian Cultural Attaché in Russia Reza Maleki and Head of the Iran Islamic Center in Russia Hojat-ol-Islam Akbari Jeddi.
Pourali in his remarks at the gathering highlighted the achievements of the ACECR in the cultural and international fields, and said it is ready to share them with Iranian institutes in Russia.
They include the area of information
dissemination and the media as the ACECR has good experience in the field as it
runs three news agencies, the two sides stressed.
Other areas for cooperation between the ACECR and Iranian institutes in Russia, as well as Russian institutes, they said, include conducting polls, promoting tourism ties, and publishing postgraduate thesis in Russia on Iranian studies, Persian language and literature and Islamic studies.
The two sides agreed to hold further meetings to discuss joint cooperation.
Earlier, the IAQAO signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Russian Council of Muftis to enhance joint cooperation between the two sides.
The signing ceremony was held in the Grand Mosque in Moscow.
