Woman Finds Rare Copy of Quran in Moscow
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Russian woman found a rare manuscript copy of the Holy Quran in her late grandfather’s belongings.
The woman, named Anashka Haj Murad, received offers of significant amount to sell the precious copy, but she chose to donate it to her neighborhood’s mosque, al-Alam reported.
Haj Murad, who lives in Moscow, had received offers of up to 45 million rubles for the Quran but refused to sell it.
She told a Russian TV station that the rare manuscript dates back to the 16th century.
She said it has been calligraphed somewhere in Syria around 400 years ago.
The copy, which contains all the Surahs and verses of the Quran, has been preserved very well.
