Iran Flag-Bearer of Interfaith Fraternity
Speaking to the Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, the secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) said, "I come from a country where followers of all faiths and Islamic schools of thought live together in peace and friendship and all of them have a share in the country’s decision making.”
Ayatollah Araki is in Sao Paulo to attend a conference titled "Muslims and Countering Terrorism and Extremism”.
He invited those who are under the influence of anti-Iran propaganda to visit the country and see the conditions for themselves instead of making judgments without knowledge.
Asked about Iran’s stance on the Palestinian issue, Ayatollah Araki said the Zionist regime of Israel over the past seven decades has caused the spilling of the blood of innocent people and displacement of women, men and children in the region.
He underlined that the Islamic Republic seeks peace and calm in the region but the Israeli regime has been the source of wars and bloodshed in the region since its establishment.
