The contest got underway in Moscow on Thursday.
Abuzar Karami said many of those who went to the stage to show their Quranic skills, including memorizers from Yemen, Morocco and Algeria, had very good performances.
Born in 1989, Karami is a memorizer of the entire Quran. He has previously represented Iran in international Quran contests in Libya, Jordan and Turkey, winning a 4th title in the Libya Quranic event.
He also won the top prize in the International Quran Competition for Muslim Students in 2010.
