Quran Contest Held in Brunei

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran contest titled the Musabaqah Al-Quran Reading for Adults at District Level was held at the Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque, Kampong Jerudong, Brunei on Monday.

 

The competition saw 51 participants, 39 Qari and 12 Qariah.

The religious event was organized by the Imarah Section, Mosque Affairs Department in collaboration with Religious Affairs Office from all four districts as well as members of the Takmir Committee of Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque.

The contest was held to select the Qaris and Qariahs who achieved 80 per cent mark and above to enter the semifinal competition at the national level.

Senior officers and staff of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, parents and family members of participants and residents of Kampong Jerudong were present.

The results will be announced today at the Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque.
