Mourning Rituals in Qom to Mark Anniversary of Hazrat Masoumeh Demise
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Groups of mourners from different parts of Qom province in central Iran will gather at the holy mausoleum of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) on Monday evening ahead of the demise anniversary of the noble lady.
They will move from Imam Hassan Askari (AS) Mosque toward the mausoleum and hold mourning ceremonies there.
A number of elegy reciters including Abbas Heydarzadeh, Javad Ash’ari, Masoud Zamani, and Behnam Abdeni will recite elegies at the event.
Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (AS) is the daughter of Imam Musa Kadhim (AS) and sister of Imam Reza (AS).
She arrived in the city in the year 816 (AD) on her way to Mashhad but passed away a few days later and was buried in Qom.
Her holy shrine is visited by millions of pilgrims from Iran and other countries every year.
The 10th day of the lunar Hijri month of Rabi al-Thani (Tuesday, December 18 this year) marks her demise anniversary.
