Sudanese Official Underlines Support for Quranic Schools

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Sudanese vice-president said the country’s government is determined to support Quran schools and traditional Quran classes that are successful in promoting Quranic education.

 

Muhammad Yusuf Kibr made the remark in a ceremony held on Sunday to honor 150 graduates of Quran memorization schools, according to G365 website.

He also praised moves to make use of experiences of traditional schools in new ones.

Kibr further urged all Sudanese families to pay special attention to Quranic education of their children.

Also speaking at the ceremony was Muhammad Abdul Razzaq, director of Sudan’s Zakat Department, who said the department provides support to more than 2800 Quran schools across the country.

Sudan is a country in northern Africa. Over 97 percent of its population is Muslim.

Quranic activities are prevalent in Sudan and its people are very keen on learning the Quran.

There are Quranic classes called ‘Khalawat’ as well as Quranic schools across the country. Many of people in the country know the entire Quran by heart.
