In the preliminary stage of the contest, he went to the Iranian Cultural Center in Manila to recite the Quran and prove his qualifications for attending the semifinal and final rounds in Iran.

Iran’s 36th International Quran Competition is slated to officially kick off in the capital Tehran on Wednesday and run until April 14.
Simultaneously, four other international Quran contests, - those for women, school students, seminary students, and the visually-impaired- will be held in Tehran and Qom.
A total of 184 Quran activists from 84 countries have made it to the semi-final round of the contests.
