Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Ali Rezaei Esfehani told IQNA that the country witnessed a great leap in Quranic studies after the victory of the revolution.
The developments in Quranic fields in Iran since the Islamic Revolution victory have been such that Iran has overtaken prestigious institutions like Egypt’s al-Azhar and Umm Al-Qura University in m Medina in this regard, he said.
This is especially evident in interdisciplinary Quranic studies, added Hojat-ol-Islam Rezaei Esfehani, who is dean of the Quran and Hadith School of Al-Mustafa International University.
He said the first area of Quranic sciences in which Iran began advancing after the revolution victory was Tafseer (Quran interpretation).
Iran has also been very successful in training Quran reciters and memorizers and today there are thousands of Qaris and memorizers in the country, he went on to say.
