According to IQNA’s branch in West Asia, the program titled “Iqbal’s Word and Imam Hussein’s (AS) Message” was attended by literary and academic figures and Shia and Sunni scholars of the region.
Addressing the forum, Mohammad Akbari, who is in charge of the Iranian Cultural Center in the city, said that some of the poetries in the Divan of Allama Iqbal have been specified to Ashura and Imam Hussein (AS).
Akbari added that besides these poetries, there are some other verses composed by Iqbal which reveal how much he was influenced by the Imam’s uprising.
Experts in Iranian literature believe that Iqbal’s poetries about Imam Hussein A(S) are among the best Persian poetries in this respect, he said.
The Iranian official noted that fighting against tyranny and guiding the society based on Quranic teachings were the two important messages of Ashura uprising which can be the objectives of all nations at all times.
Tanweer Heidar, head of Iblagh Scientific Literary Association, Allama Heidar Alawi, head of Mahadh Association of Scholars in Punjab, Jameel Qalandar, head of the Arabic Department of Islamic International University, Chaudhry Muhammad Akram, head of Punjab Faculties Academic Complex, Rashid Hameed, Haji Abdul Razzaq and Faruq Mustafay also presented speeches at the program.
Allama Iqbal was a philosopher, poet and politician in British India who is widely regarded as having inspired the Pakistan Movement. He is considered one of the most important figures in Urdu literature with literary works in both the Urdu and Persian languages.
