Quran Interpretation in Russian Unveiled in Moscow Int’l Quran Festival

TEHRAN (IQNA) - The first interpretation of the entire Quran in Russian titled “Noor Al-Quran” was unveiled in the third day of the first edition of international Quran festival in Moscow.


The Quran interpretation has been published in 12 volumes by Russia’s Foundation of Islamic Studies.



 



A “Quran Tablet” produced by the representative of Al-Mustafa International University in Russia, was also unveiled in the official opening ceremony of the festival.



 



The event was officially opened on July 13 with the participation of political, cultural and academic figures at the Islamic Center of Moscow.



 



The program began with Quran recitation by Hassan Danesh, internationally known Quran reciter from Iran and continued with a speech delivered by Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, head of the Supreme Council of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Muslim World Affairs.



 



He highlighted the importance of Quran and the need to recourse to the Divine Word particularly in the period of crisis and referred to some Hadiths narrated from Imam Ali (AS) about the Holy Quran and characteristics of a Quranic society.



 



Roshan Hazrat Abbasov, first deputy of the Council of Muftis in Russia, then read a message by Ravil Ainuddin, chairman of the council, to the festival.



 



Mahdi Sanayi, Iranian ambassador to Russia, was another speaker in the program who considered the festival as a good opportunity for better introduction of Islam and Quran.



 



He said that Quran is the best source for interfaith dialogue adding that in no other book the terms “say/ tell” and “listen/ hear” have been used so frequently as in the Quran.



 



Also speaking in the ceremony, Iranian Cultural Attaché in Russia Reza Maleki elaborated on the objectives and organization of the festival and said that the international Quranic event includes various sections such as “Quran and art”, “Quran, animation, and cinema” and “Quranic software”.



 



A group of Iranian Quran reciters and memorizers also performed Tawasheeh (religious choral singing) in the ceremony.



 



The program concluded with the recitation of some supplications in Tatar and Russian languages.



 



The participants in the program then visited different pavilions and sections of the festival, including Russia’s Foundation of Islamic Studies, Al-Mustafa International University, “Noor” Computer Research Center and the National Library of Russia.



 



The first edition of International Quran festival in Russia is underway at the Islamic Center of Moscow and will continue for one week.
