Quranic Studies Forum Held in Kufa

TEHRAN (IQNA) - A scholarly forum on Quranic studies was held on the sidelines of the 5th edition of “Al-Safir” international festival in Kufa, Iraq.


According to masjed-alkufa.net, the Kufa Mosque hosted the forum, which was attended by eminent religious, cultural and academic figures as well as Quran experts from Iraq and other countries.



 



Iraqi Quran reciters including Ala Al-Sadeqi, Qari and Muazzin of Kufa Mosque, Rafi’ Al-‘Ameri, Qari and Muazzin of Kadhimayn holy shrine and Seyyed Hassnayn Al-Hulw, Qari and Muazzin of the holy shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS), recited some verses of the Holy Quran in the session.



 



“Nasikh and Mansukh in the Holy Quran” (abrogation in Quran), “Tafsir and Ta’weel in Quran”, “Asbab Al-Nuzul of Quran” (occasions and circumstances of the revelation of Quran), “Muhkam (decisive) and Muashabih (allegorical) in Quran”, “Quranic Qiraat” (Quran recitation styles) and “Tartib Al-Nuzul” (chronological order of Quran) were among the themes of 24 Quranis papers submitted to the festival.



 



The papers presented by Kazim Farhan Hajim, Usam Kazim Al-Ghalibi and Khalil Khalaf Bashir in the forum were respectively selected as the three top Quranic researches.



 



The 5th edition of the religious-cultural festival has been underway in Kufa since July 23, concurrent with the anniversary of Muslim ibn ‘Aqeel’s (AS) arrival in Kufa.



 



The main objective of the festival is to commemorate Muslim ibn Aqeel (AS), the cousin of Imam Hussein (AS) and the messenger of the Imam’s uprising dispatched to Kufa in 60 A.H.



 



Quranic forums, photo exhibition, forums to investigate studies about Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his glad advent) and competitions are some other parts of the festival.
