Ta’ziyeh Performance about Imam Sajjad (AS) Martyrdom
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Ta’ziyeh (passion play) was performed at the Imam Sadeq (AS) Mosque in the southern Iranian province of Fars to mark the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Sajjad (AS), the fourth Shia Imam.
Ta’ziyeh, a word deriving from Aza (means mourning in Arabic), is a kind of passion play mostly featuring the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions in the 680 AD Battle of Karbala.
