Arbaeen Pilgrims
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Every year on the 20th day of the month of Safar in the lunar Hijri calendar millions of pilgrims march toward the holy city of Karbala to mark Arbaeen.
There, they mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his faithful companions in the 680AD Battle of Karbala.
Arbaeen is the 40th day after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS).
