Summer Quranic Festival Kicks Off in Algeria

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The first edition of a summer Quranic festival started on September 1 at the Islamic Cultural Center of Tissemsilt Province in Algeria.

  

According to ennaharonline.com, the Quranic program is for Quran activists aged 6 to 25.

The 20-day festival is supervised by a number of Quran experts of the Arab country.

Workshops on Tajweed principles, Quran competitions for children and the youth, religious poetry competition, and speeches on “the virtues of Quran memorization”, “the most eminent Quran interpreters”, and Quran teaching schools in Tissemsilt are among the programs of the festival.

It will also include a book fair on religious topics and the biographies of prominent Algerian scholars and intellectuals, a photo exhibition featuring traditional Quran teaching schools in the province, and screening short documentaries on the activities of the center.

Algeria is a country in North Africa. Muslims make up about ninety-nine percent of the country’s population.
