TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quranic plan dubbed ‘1455’ started in Iran on Saturday, June 26.

The Quranic plan is annually organized in summer with the aim of promoting memorization of the Holy Book and spreading the Quranic culture and teachings in society.

This is the 1455th year since the revelation of the Holy Quran to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and hence the name ‘1455’.

In this plan, every week some verses of the Quran with special themes are selected and their interpretations are discussed in various TV and radio programs.

Then a competition is held about the lessons and discussions.

Following is an interpretation of verse 22 of Surah al-Ahzab of the Holy Quran, given in the “1455 Quranic Plan”:

“When the believers saw the confederates they said: 'This is what Allah and His Messenger have promised us. Surely, Allah and His Messenger have spoken in truth. ' And this did not increase them except in belief and submission.”

The Holy Quran on various occasions talks about “true believers” and their excellent morals, steadfastness, determination and other characteristics in great Jihads.

This verse describes the spirit of the believers in the Battle of Ahzab, which was the opposite of that of the Munafiqeen (Hypocrites).

Verse 12 of this Surah refers to the Hypocrites who claim the promises of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) are lies. But this verse says that the believers consider these promises to be genuine and truthful.

That is why this verse says: “When the believers saw the confederates they said: 'This is what Allah and His Messenger have promised us. Surely, Allah and His Messenger have spoken in truth. ' And this did not increase them except in belief and submission.”

What was the promise given by God and the Holy prophet (PBUH)?

Some say this refers to the good news that the Prophet (PBUH) had given that soon “Arab clans and your enemies would soon get together and wage war on you (Muslims) but rest assured that ultimately victory is yours.”

When they saw the Battle of Ahzab, the believers became sure that it was that very promise given by the Prophet (PBUH).

They said to themselves: Now that the first part of the promise has come true, the second part, namely Muslims’ victory, will also come true for sure.

Hence it boosted their faith and their submission.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei says in this regard:

The Muslim world needs more than anytime today that Muslims youths and all members of Muslim nation trust in the promises of God and the Quran. It is not enough to say “We are faithful”, “We are Muslims”, or “We are true Muslims”. Nor does it prove anything to question the Islamic Republic and those in our nation who have come out of exams successfully and proven their faith by saying “What you say is not true faith and true Islam. True Islam is what we say.”

The Leader has said elsewhere:

In facing difficult events and hardships, such as these sanctions, or, say, a military invasion, a military move – these are difficult events that may be imposed by the enemy – God here orders us and teaches us the right path:

“When the believers saw the confederates they said: 'This is what Allah and His Messenger have promised us. Surely, Allah and His Messenger have spoken in truth. ' And this did not increase them except in belief and submission.”

We didn’t expect an Islamic government to be established in a time when materialism and materialistic governments dominated the world and see the world’s materialists who possess all the materialistic powers remain silent and watch. It was clear that they would wage confrontation, it is obvious that they would impose sanctions if they can, they would wage military war if they can. We should do something that they do not even think of doing these and if they did take such measures, they would immediately be put in their place. To expect the enemy not to attack us is not a proper expectation. So this is a Divine commandment: One should not get fearful and worried in the face of incidents: “Indeed, there shall be neither fear nor sorrow upon the guided by Allah.” [Surah Yunus (10), Verse 62].
