VIDEO: Visually-Impaired Qari Imitates Quran Masters’ Styles

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Othman Ihab Abdul Karim is a visually-impaired teenager in Egypt who is very skillful in Quran recitation.

He is a student of Usul Al-Din Faculty of Al-Azhar University, Zagazig branch, according to Youm7.com website.

“I was born blind but God blessed me with the love of the Quran, memorizing it and learning its recitation,” he says.

Othman memorized the entire Quran by heart at the age of 13 by listening to Quran recitations on radio.

He would also go to Quran schools which helped him a lot in learning the Quran by heart.

Othman then started learning recitation by listening to and imitating the styles of great Quran masters such as Abdul Basit Abdul Samad, Muhammad Sidiq Minshawi and Abolainain Shoaisha.

Given his skills, he is invited to many Quranic and religious programs to recite the Quran.

He wishes to one day be able to recite the Holy Book at Egypt’s Quran Radio.
